House Next Door
The House Next Door was one of the Black Family’s outreach programs. Funded by Project F.R.E.E., it provided a community center as well as day center for elderly people and meals for people in need. The House Next Door gave community members a place where they could meet, discuss neighborhood issues, and expresss their needs. This community space met the Black’s goal of increasing quality of life in their community by providing a forum for neighborhood activism and giving a vunerable part of the population access to nutrition and health services.
